Instructions For Hair Sample Collection
Obtaining Your Hair Specimen
Scalp hair is the recommended sample source. Armpit, beard, pubic and other body hair can be used if scalp hair is not available.
Preparation
We accept color treated hair. It has no effect on the important aspects of the test.The hair should be free of gels, oils, and creams prior to sample collection.
Location
Small portions from the nape of neck, sides of head, near the ear, or temple. Alternatively, use another hair source from the beard, armpit, pubic, or leg.
Length
Using stainless steel scissors or thinning shears, cut as close to scalp as possible no more than 1½ inches. Discard excess hair more than 1 ½ inches from the root.

Step 1:
Please collect at least 1 full teaspoon or 125 milligrams of hair. Insert hair sample inside the hair collection envelope (A), seal closed, and fill out your full name and shampoo brand.
Step 2:
Locate the HTMA submittal form (B) and complete all sections. FORM LINK
TRUST: Your past drug use, whether legal or not, is none of our business. We don’t test for it, and we don’t record it. Your data is private and it always will be.
Step 3:
Insert completed hair sample collection envelope (A) and HTMA submittal form (B) into the master envelope, and seal closed. Attach prepaid return shipping label to sealed master envelope. Mail sealed master envelope using carrier listed on your prepaid return shipping label.
Step 4:
